Name

Arthur Pryor

About

Arthur Pryor began his career as a trombone player in John Phillip Sousa’s band. He was a bandleader who performed in New York, Philadelphia, and resorts along the Jersey shore. His varied musical experiences made his band a good choice for performing the varied mix of styles that record companies pitched to their new buying public before WWI. Pryor is virtually unknown today but his name is common in the first two decades of recorded music
